Latest company news about Classification of alumina crucibles and selection of their application

一、Alumina crucibles are classified by shape as follows:

I. Classification by Shape:

1. Square crucible

Feature: The four walls are vertical and the bottom is flat, making it easy to stack and store.

Application: Suitable for batch sample processing in the laboratory (such as firing of fluorescent powders, rare earth materials) or for metal melting experiments that require stable heating.

2. Cylindrical crucible

Features: Uniform side walls, uniform heat distribution, suitable for pipe furnaces and other equipment.

Application: Commonly used in high-temperature sintering (such as for ceramic capacitors, processing of lithium cobalt oxide powder) or in scientific research experiments that require precise temperature control.

3. Arc-shaped (National Standard) Crucible

Features: Rounded bottom, inclined side walls, conforms to international standard dimensions.

Application: General-purpose laboratory melting (such as treating samples with anhydrous sodium carbonate), suitable for most thermal analysis instruments.

4. With lid crucible

Feature: Comes with a sealing cap, reducing evaporation loss.

Application: For reducing experiments that require air isolation (such as precious metal smelting) or for handling volatile substances

二、Special Shapes and Customization

Semi-circular corundum boat: Specifically designed for tube furnaces, used for the continuous high-temperature processing of powder samples

Thin-walled square crucible: Used in polycrystalline silicon production, it needs to withstand the thermal stress of the large-sized thin-walled structure.

三、 Suggestions for Selecting Usage Scenarios

High temperature stability is a requirement: Preferentially choose high-density cylindrical or square crucibles (such as those made of 99% alumina material)

Chemical corrosion environment: Avoid contact of the covered crucible with strong acids or alkalis. It is recommended to use arc-shaped or cylindrical ones.

Automation equipment compatibility: Must match the size of the instrument (such as the special curved crucible for thermal analysis instruments.
